Alex Hakes is a Master of Public Affiars candidate at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a Research Assistant at the MGMT Lab. Before moving to Bloomington, he grew up in Yorktown, Indiana. Alex graduated from Indiana University East, with a bachelor degree in Political Science and second bachelor degree in Spanish with minors in International Relations and Economics. Previous research interests focus on barriers in advancing HIV prevention treatment for low-income and BIPOC communities. In his freetime, he enjoys weightlifting and going to concerts.
